As briefly touched upon on our home page, the Arctic Spinner is a unique, in-line spinner that is continuing to grow its reputation as an extremely productive lure.  I have had reports and pictures of anglers who have taken this lure to Alaska and caught salmon, and others who have taken it into Canada and caught pike and muskie.

Watch video of a small muskie being taken on a Firetiger Arctic Spinner.  Be sure to click the PLAY button at the bottom-left of the video screen (note the caption under the video as well as the credits at the end).

An article written in 2007 by outdoor writer Brian Kelly is an excellent documentary about the lure.  The article was published in the Michigan outdoor magazine Woods-n-Water, and later in Midwest Outdoors magazine.

We are just now wrapping up the results for 2011 and for the first time in the lure’s history, orange was NOT the best selling color!  The Number One selling color this year was (drum roll please) - black.  Not only was it the best seller this year, but it outsold the next best color (orange) by well over 2 to 1.

What's New for 2012?

  • With the explosion of black, we will have an All Black lure available in 2012. We now have black beads, so it will have a black body, black skirt, black blade and now all black beads.

  • We will have a new color called Black Copper Vein. This is a two-color body that is available with a mixed skirt of black and brown.  I tested this lure last spring off the pier in Caseville, Michigan and caught three really nice smallmouth on my first three casts.

  • There will be a brown body and brown skirt available for 2012.  Lure colors don't always resemble a natural bait, but this is your classic night crawler color.

  • We also found a supplier of purple blades to go with our purple body and skirt.

We will continue to listen to all of you anglers and bait shop owners to give you the most productive lure possible.
